Description
Orange is a type of citrus fruit that is widely cultivated around the world. It is a round or oval-shaped fruit that is typically between 2 and 3 inches in diameter. The outer skin, or rind, is orange in color and is usually thick and slightly rough to the touch. Inside, the fruit is divided into segments called “supremes” that are surrounded by a bitter white pith. The flesh of the orange is juicy, sweet and acidic, and can range in color from light orange to deep red. Oranges are a good source of vitamin C and are often eaten fresh, but can also be used to make juice, marmalade, and other food items.
